One of the major events of Fiesta is the Texas Cavaliers River Parade. It was interesting seeing the floats close up during a walk today. The parade’s barge floats were parked below the dam. The barge passing by the parked floats is the regular barge taxi. The drivers are versed in river history and share it with the passengers.
This is one of the many Fiesta events that raise money for local charities. Money collected for the parade tickets go to the Texas Cavaliers charitable foundation. King Antonio (selected from the Cavaliers) presides over the Fiesta activities and the distribution of over $200,000 to local children’s charities.
